The Aberdeen-Inverness Improvement Project has launched a new partnership with Aberdeen Football Club’s Community Trust to promote rail safety to young people.

The public are being warned that overhead power cables on lines from Larbert through Stirling, Dunblane and Alloa will be live from Sunday, November 4.

Network Rail engineers will be delivering a multi-million-pound programme of enhancement and maintenance projects on the Highland main line over the next five weekends.

Today, Thursday 25 October, the first tram train in the UK entered service between Rotherham and Sheffield  thanks to a partnership between Network Rail, Stagecoach Supertram, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and the Department for Transport.
