Passengers on the Hope Valley line between Manchester and Sheffield should check before travelling on two Sundays in November, as multi-million-pound upgrades to the line continue.

Due to further coordinated strike action by the RMT, TSSA and Unite trades unions on Saturday 5, Monday 7 and Wednesday 9 November, Network Rail is asking passengers to only travel if absolutely necessary, expect widespread disruption and to plan ahead.

Leeds station is supporting the Royal British Legion’s City Poppy Day tomorrow (Tuesday 1 November) by hosting a team of volunteer fundraisers, as well as a live performance from the British Army Band Catterick.

A package of works on swing bridges in Norfolk and Suffolk has been completed this autumn as part of a project to improve their reliability.

Network Rail has this morning reopened the Ebbw Vale line again to passenger trains after a nine-day closure. 

Network Rail and South Western Railway are strengthening their fight against leaves on the line to keep trains running safely and reliably in Surrey, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset this autumn.
