• Rail passengers are being warned of severe disruption on 13, 14, 16 and 17 December as the RMT, TSSA and Unite stage strike action
• A special, reduced timetable is planned to run along the East Coast Main Line, with trains starting later and finishing much earlier than usual, between 7.30am and 6.30pm
• Passengers should expect disruption, plan ahead and only travel if it’s absolutely necessary

Network Rail is urging passengers to only travel by train if absolutely necessary and plan ahead due to 48-hour strikes on 13 & 14, and 16 & 17 December.

Rail passengers are being advised to check before they travel after heavy snow in London, the South East and East Anglia.

Rail passengers planning travel in Wales during upcoming strike action by multiple rail workers’ unions before and after Christmas are being warned not to get caught out with limited trains running over reduced hours. 

The railway and footbridge across the Grade II* listed bridge will reopen on Saturday 10 December, as Network Rail prepares for final metallic upgrades in 2023. 

The line between Salisbury to Yeovil Junction will be closed from this weekend so Network Rail can lay new track.

Network Rail has completed work to renew fencing at the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre in Grangemouth.

• Only absolutely necessary rail travel is advised during strike action on 13, 14, 16 and 17 December 
• Trains will be on a significantly reduced timetable, will start later from 7:30am and finish by 6.30pm
• During those times only two trains trains per hour will depart Liverpool Lime Street station
• With no trains leaving after 5pm people should plan alternative ways to get home
• Liverpool Lime Street station will close its doors by 7pm
• Nationally 20% of services will run on just 50% of the network – most branch lines will have no trains at all
