Network Rail is working with BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland to re-connect communities along Loch Awe following a landslip at the Falls of Cruachan.

• With RMT strikes planned on Christmas Eve, trains will stop much earlier than usual
• Passengers should only take the train if it’s absolutely necessary, expect disruption and travel the day before wherever they can
• Services will start much later than usual on 27 December

Passengers are advised to only travel if absolutely necessary and to travel before lunchtime or on another day due to upcoming strike action. 

Network Rail is warning passengers that RMT strike action planned for Christmas Eve will have a severe impact on rail services on the day with passengers being advised to only travel if absolutely necessary or to consider travelling another day.

Christmas is a busy time for maintaining the railway, but while all eyes are on the festive period, rail passengers should continue to plan ahead and check their travel plans for 2023 as planned engineering work will continue to affect weekend and some weekday journeys between January and April into London Liverpool Street.

The 132-year-old canopy at the main entrance of Knaresborough station has been repaired and restored to keep it looking its best for future generations. 

The next phase of the roll-out of request-stop kiosk on the Far North Line in the Scottish Highlands will go live at five locations from Tuesday December 20.
