Rail passengers are being advised to plan their journeys in advance over the Easter bank holiday period (Friday 18 - Monday 21 April) as Network Rail delivers an £86m investment programme consisting of more than 300 upgrade projects across the country.

A series of weekend engineering works will mean changes to cross-border services on the West Coast Mainline this spring.

TRU engineers will be delivering upgrades between Leeds and Church Fenton on the weekends of 8-9 March, 15-16 March and 22-23 March, meaning services will be impacted on this line.

Standard renewals to signalling systems will begin this Spring to improve future journeys for passengers and freight on the West Coast Main Line between England and Scotland.

Network Rail is refurbishing the railway bridge over Old Dalkeith Road – at Cameron Toll roundabout – with the road beneath closed from today (Tuesday March 4) until March 14.
