Network Rail has cleared a second landslip at Barnehurst, which occured on Wednesday night, and is working to repair a damaged signalling system.

Almost 20,000 passengers used the new southern entrance at Leeds station during a successful first seven days – saving commuters almost an hour a week thanks to quicker access to the platforms.

Network Rail engineers are continuing repair work on the Conwy Valley line after flooding caused damage at over 100 separate locations.

Work to deliver Network Rail’s £1bn+ investment in the rail network in the north of England will increase in 2016, bringing passengers another step closer to better services and a better railway.

Network Rail has appointed Susan Cooklin as its new route services director and joins the company’s executive team.  Ms Cooklin was previously group chief information officer (CIO) and director shared services, leading the company’s 900-strong IT and shared services unit.

Passenger train services have resumed after Network Rail successfully completed a £100m railway upgrade in Greater Lincolnshire.
