A Network Rail project manager for the new station entrance in Leeds has thrown her support behind the campaign to increase diversity in engineering.

A major project which will pave the way for more passenger services between Corby, Kettering and London has entered its next phase as work in the Kettering area will start this week.

Women from Network Rail’s south east region, along with the Thameslink Programme and its contractors, gathered at the site of a massive railway construction project to celebrate Women in Engineering Day (Tuesday, June 23).

Passengers travelling between Cardiff and Newport next weekend are being advised to check before they travel as Network Rail carries out essential improvement work to improve the reliability of services across South Wales for passengers.

Tens of thousands of tons of earth can be safely transported within a major rail development site near Stafford and kept off local roads after engineers completed the construction of a new bridge.

Staff from Network Rail and First Great Western will be taking part in a cycling and rowing challenge at Reading station tomorrow to raise money for Samaritans and highlight the invaluable work it does.
