Rail line between Castle Cary and Yeovil Pen Mill to be closed all day as works overrun

Passengers travelling between Castle Cary and Yeovil Pen Mill are urged to check before they travel owing to overrunning engineering works which means the line will be closed all day.

Network Rail engineers have been replacing track at Castle Cary but have not been able to complete the work on time.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "We have been working on the line between Castle Cary and Yeovil Pen Mill this weekend but have not been able to complete the work on time. We are now working to a revised plan to complete the work. I sincerely apologise to those affected and ask that passengers check before they travel."
