ENGINEERING WORKS BETWEEN EXETER & PLYMOUTH

A major track maintenance and renewal project costing £2.6 million will be taking place between Exeter and Plymouth over the coming months. This is part of Network Rail’s commitment to improve the rail infrastructure in the area so that passengers will benefit from more reliable journeys. The line between Exeter and Plymouth will be closed on the following dates (please note that trains will be terminating at 10pm on the Saturday night prior to total Sunday closure): Sunday 13 November Sunday 20 November Sunday 27 November Sunday 4 December Sunday 11 December Sunday 18 December Tim Maddocks, Network Rail’s Customer Service Manager for the West Country, said: “This important engineering work is part of our commitment to provide a safe and reliable railway for rail travellers in the region. “We are carrying out this work at the weekends in order to keep passenger disruption to a minimum and have worked closely with the train operating companies to provide alternative travel arrangements.” Passengers are advised to contact their local train operating company if they are planning to travel on this route during this period, call National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50 or visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.
