The line, which runs between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog, has reopened fully for passengers.

This week’s scorching temperatures are set to impact train passengers, Network Rail warned today.

• Whilst most of the railway operates normally in hot conditions, Network Rail and South Western Railway are working together to mitigate the impact of what could be record-breaking temperatures
• Network Rail has activated its ‘extreme weather action teams’ (EWATs) on the South Western Railway network to minimise heat-related infrastructure problems and keep passengers moving safely
• Passengers are advised to check services before travelling, with large numbers expected to head out across the south west to enjoy the warm weather over the next few days

• Temperatures across London and the South East are forecast to reach 37°C on Thursday and steel rail temperatures could rise to well over 50°C.
• Network Rail has activated its ‘extreme weather action teams’ (EWATs) across the South East and passengers are advised to check before they travel.
• To reduce the risk of buckling and to keep passengers safe, we have to introduce speed restrictions which means fewer trains can run and they’re likely to be much busier and take longer to complete their journeys.

Network Rail is about to begin the next phase of the redevelopment of Glasgow Queen street with the installation of the new glass façade at the West George Street side of the station.

As summer starts to hot up with high temperatures forecast this week, Network Rail’s Western route has been busy making sure that the hot weather doesn’t cause frustrations for passengers and that any potential disruption to journeys is minimised.
