Network Rail – along with East Midlands Railway, Cross Country and British Transport Police - has joined forces with passengers and people in South Wigston as part of a scheme to tackle trespass and vandalism.

Extensive repair and recovery works will be carried out over the next few days following a collision between a freight train and a tractor on the Ely to Peterborough rail line this morning (19 August).

Children and families are being invited to attend an open day event on Monday 23 August at Reading station where colleagues from Network Rail, Great Western Railway and British Transport Police will be running a range of activities promoting railway safety.

• Network Rail will also continue with Kentish Town track upgrades and replace points between Kentish Town and West Hampstead
• Work planned to minimise disruption as much as possible as railway welcomes passengers back
• Changes to East Midlands Railway and Thameslink services – passengers advised to plan ahead
