Athletes, sports fans and rail passengers from around the world are being thanked by Network Rail for an amazing 12 days as the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games come to an end.

Network Rail colleagues were proud to play a part in the 50th anniversary celebrations of Pride in Brighton on Saturday, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.

A Transport and Works Act Order (TWAO) application has been submitted to the Department for Transport to seek powers to upgrade seven level crossings as part of the £194 million Cambridge re-signalling programme.  

Network Rail is inviting communities along the Waterside area, on the edge of Southampton Water and the New Forest, to find out more about proposals to run passenger services on the freight-only railway for the first time since 1966.

Rail passengers are being thanked for their patience while the main entrance to Stoke-on-Trent station has been temporarily closed for urgent roof repairs.

Network Rail has worked with Sampford Courtenay Parish Council in Devon to brighten up the platform of the local station, which is currently not used for passenger services, and provide space for community garden planters while creating a more pleasant view for people passing through on trips to and from Okehampton.

Network Rail has completed a £1.8 million programme of work that will improve the resilience of the railway on the Mallaig line at Lochailort in the West Highlands.
