Carstairs station is set to reopen to passengers on Tuesday May 30 following the successful completion of engineering work on lines serving the station and on its platforms.

Work to repair Nuneham viaduct in Oxfordshire has passed a key milestone.

Work to fully repair and restore the 130-year-old Grade II-listed footbridge at Beverley station begins next week. 

Work on the Severn and Carno viaduct near Caersws, Powys, was completed on Friday 19 May as well as a large section of track work near Newtown. 

Much of the railway network is open over the Spring bank holiday across Anglia for passengers to enjoy the many delights of the region. However, there are some engineering works taking place that may affect journeys on the West Anglia Main line and the on the Tilbury and Southend line. 

Between Monday 15 and Friday 19 May, Network Rail teamed up with Leeds United Foundation and rail industry partners to teach children from schools in and around West Yorkshire about the importance of rail safety.

Passengers intending to travel to and from London King’s Cross and other destinations on the East Coast Main Line via Peterborough, and across Great Northern routes over the weekend of 24 and 25 June 2023 are being asked to plan ahead and check how their journey may be affected.

Passengers are urged to check before travelling as track upgrades take place on both the Midland Main Line and Derwent Valley Line from Saturday 27 May to Sunday 11 June.
