Councillors and officers from Dorset Council, Richard Drax MP, Chris Loder MP and the managing directors for South Western Railway and Network Rail (Wessex) officially opened the station last Friday, 21 April.

Two new lifts to serve platforms 3/4 and 7/8 have now opened at Finsbury Park railway station, opening up travel opportunities for more people.

• Majority of rail network will remain open over the bank holiday, though some journeys will be affected as Network Rail undertakes £73m investment in Britain’s railway

• Services to and from London Euston will be affected, with a reduced service operating on Saturday 29 and no trains to/from Milton Keynes on Sunday 30 April

Passengers travelling between London Euston, the West Midlands, North West and Scotland are being advised to check before they travel ahead of multi-million pound railway upgrades over the early May bank holiday.

• Network Rail is providing travel information for passengers across London over the forthcoming early May bank holiday weekend as upgrade work takes place on routes to, from and within the capital

Passengers travelling on the West Coast main line and North West rail routes are being advised to check before they travel ahead of multi-million pound railway upgrades over the early May bank holiday.

Network Rail engineers will be renewing track between Doncaster and Cleethorpes to boost reliability and reduce disruption. 

Direct weekday services between Glasgow and Carlisle will resume on Monday (April 24) following completion of the latest phase of the £164m project to upgrade Carstairs junction on the West Coast mainline (WCML).
