Rail passengers are being warned of major disruption between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness after a Northern train derailed.

Passengers planning on using the West Coast main line this Easter are being advised to travel either side of the bank holiday with major improvements to track closing Euston for all but Overground services four days.

Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) are reminding road users to plan their journey ahead of time, as Ravensthorpe Road closes for a 10-week period.

Trains are now running again between Plymouth and Totnes after Network Rail completed signal and track upgrades in the area.

Network Rail has been awarded a gold level National Award for Environmental Excellence from environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.

Network Rail is investing more than £20m in rebuilding a major railway bridge that takes trains over the M62 in Castleton, near Rochdale.
