Network Rail has been reminding children that the railway is no playground in preparation for new overhead electric wires to be powered up between Kettering and Wigston.

Network Rail has confirmed that significant progress is being made on the multi-million-pound programme to upgrade Oxford Station, enhance the railway infrastructure in the area and improve the local transport network, however more time is required to complete the highly complex utility diversion works including mains water and sewer pipes under Botley Road.

Passengers are being urged to check before they travel between South Wales and Gloucester later this month and in early August as Network Rail continues its work to help protect the Severn Estuary line from extreme weather.

Network Rail, East Midlands Railway (EMR), and British Transport Police are urging parents in Sileby to ensure their children understand the severe consequences of trespassing or carrying out vandalism on or near the railway.

Passengers can look forward to smoother journeys as they travel between Nuneaton and Peterborough as Network Rail installs new track along the route throughout July.

Rail passengers are being advised about changes to journeys over ten days in August 2024 while essential engineering work takes place in the Duddeston area of Birmingham.

Bakerloo line and London Overground passengers are being advised of essential railway upgrades which will impact journeys over six days in August.  

Passengers travelling on Merseyrail’s Southport line are being advised of a rail closure in August while Network Rail replaces a bridge crossing the River Alt in Formby.
