From 7pm on Friday 16 May until 6am on Monday 19 May, Calder Road – along with Ravensthorpe station access road – will be closed to vehicles to facilitate Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) work in the area.

On Monday (21 April), TRU completed a series of Easter Weekend upgrades across West Yorkshire, which included significant changes to Mirfield station. 

• Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-final and London Marathon mean more people travelling.
• Essential engineering work means East Midlands Railway (EMR) and Thameslink trains all using high level platforms at St Pancras and EMR will run a limited service.
• Queuing systems will be in place at stations and trains are expected to be full and standing.

Huddersfield station will be closed from Saturday 30 August until Monday 29 September 2025 to enable major Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) engineering work. 

Customers are being advised to check before they travel due to essential TRU work on Easter Weekend (Saturday 19 April - Monday 21 April) between Huddersfield and Dewsbury, with services connecting Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York impacted.
