The uniquely-designed bridge is 72m long, six metres high and weighs 1,200 tonnes. It took seven hours to move it into place, travelling at an average of 7mm per second using specialist machinery before being lowered into place, creating a new landmark.

The installation of two steel beams (coloured white, centre) mark a major milestone in the redevelopment of King's Cross station. The beams will make up the steel 'funnel' which will spread out into the roof of the new western concourse, which will be complete in 2011.

Copperas Wood embankment - track realignment
