WEEKEND ENGINEERING WORKS AT KILPATRICK & CRAIGENDORAN

Essential track renewal works will be carried out by Network Rail at Kilpatrick and Craigendoran, over the weekend of 4-6 September 2004.
The work at Craigendoran will involve renewing 980 yards of track, including the replacement of sleepers and rails and the work at Kilpatrick will involve 1,010 yards of automatic ballast cleaning.
As a result, there will be no ScotRail train services between Dalmuir and Balloch/Helensburgh Central on Sunday 5 September.
Train services between Oban / Fort William / Mallaig and Glasgow Queen Street will terminate and start from Dumbarton Central. A replacement bus service will run between Glasgow Queen Street and Dumbarton Central, calling at Dalmuir in both directions. Bus services from Glasgow Queen Street will depart approximately 30 minutes earlier than advertised train services.
A replacement bus service will run between Helensburgh Central and Dalmuir, calling at Craigendoran, Cardross, Dalreoch, Dumbarton Central and Dumbarton East in both directions. Please note that bus services from Helensburgh Central will depart 22 minutes earlier than advertised train times.

A replacement bus service will also run between Balloch and Dalmuir, calling at Alexandria, Renton, Dalreoch, Dumbarton Central, Dumbarton East, Bowling and Kilpatrick in both directions. Please note that bus services from Balloch will depart 25 minutes earlier than advertised train times.
Bus services will connect with scheduled train services at Dalmuir to and from Glasgow/Drumgelloch/Motherwell.
Journeys on these routes may take longer than normal. Heavy luggage, cycles, wheelchairs and large prams cannot be carried on the replacement buses. Wheelchair users needing help with their journey should contact 0845 605 7021 in advance for information. ScotRail apologises for any inconvenience caused.
Network Rail’s Route Director, Scotland, Ron McAulay said: “This important engineering work is part of our commitment to provide a safe and reliable railway. We are undertaking the work over the weekend, which is naturally quieter, in order to minimise disruption. We apologise in advance to everyone who will be affected by this work and for the inconvenience caused.”
