Transport Minister Nicol Stephen will open the three-day presentation by unveiling a scale model of the dramatically improved station. Phase one of the Waverley redevelopment, funded by the Scottish Executive and managed by Network Rail, includes providing an ultra modern entrance to the station from Princes Street, as well as covered stairs and escalators for easier access. A footbridge will span the base of the Waverley Steps and connect with the existing walkway through the station. This phase of the project, worth £6.6 million, will provide a welcoming arrival point into Scotland’s capital. Journalists and photographers are invited to the opening of the exhibition.
