TYLER 4 EVER NATIONAL LAUNCH

Region & Route:
National

have pleasure in enclosing an invitation to the national launch of ‘TYLER 4 EVER’ a video produced in association with the rail industry in memory of Tyler Deacon. In December 2003 Tyler, an Year 11 student at Soar Valley College in Leicester, was tragically killed on a railway line whilst playing with a group of friends. His mother and his school were determined that something good should come out of this tragedy. As a result they decided to produce something that used Tyler’s story to convey the message to stay away from railway lines in a way that would impact on as wide a range of students as possible. The video, which will be distributed to all secondary schools in Britain, is the result of this work. At the launch there will also be a display of artwork and writing produced by students in memory of Tyler. There will be an opportunity following the viewing of the video for media interviews with rail industry spokespeople and representatives on behalf of the school. The event will begin at 11.20am and should last approximately one hour. Refreshments will be provided. Soar Valley College is located on Gleneagles Avenue 1 km from the junction with the A653 Troon Avenue. Alternatively it is a short taxi ride from Leicester train station. Please note car parking will be arranged on arrival. Please complete the attached reply slip and fax back by Friday 18 June. About Network Rail

We own, operate and develop Britain's railway infrastructure; that's 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts and the thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. We run 20 of the UK's largest stations while all the others, over 2,500, are run by the country's train operating companies.

Usually, there are almost five million journeys made in the UK and over 600 freight trains run on the network. People depend on Britain's railway for their daily commute, to visit friends and loved ones and to get them home safe every day. Our role is to deliver a safe and reliable railway, so we carefully manage and deliver thousands of projects every year that form part of the multi-billion pound Railway Upgrade Plan, to grow and expand the nation's railway network to respond to the tremendous growth and demand the railway has experienced - a doubling of passenger journeys over the past 20 years.
