THREE MOUNTAIN BIKES AND CASH UP FOR GRABS

Network Rail has launched a schools’ competition, with top quality prizes up for grabs.             Schools in and around March have received details about how their students can win mountain bikes and vouchers.  The winners’ school will also receive £100. The competition has been designed to coincide with the community open day at the new railway depot at Whitemoor, March on Sunday 23 May 2004. Children have been challenged to draw a comic strip, design a poster or write a poem about the railways.  Entries will be split into three groups: up to 7; 8-12 and 13-16. The entries can be about any aspect of the railway!  How fast trains travel; the colour of their livery; people who work on the railway; a day in the life of; steam trains; the environment; the sound trains make; why the railway is important to March. All entries must be submitted to the March station newspaper stand or March Times newspaper office by Saturday 15 May, with name, age, school written on the back.  Prizes will be presented to the winners at the open day.
