Strike a pose: win train tickets in #EustonBackOnTrack competition

Region & Route:
North West & Central
| North West & Central: West Coast Mainline South

Passengers can pose for selfies beside a huge map of the West Coast main line for a chance to win rail tickets to key destinations from London Euston station.

Each Friday for the next four weeks, passengers who post pictures to social media using the hashtag #EustonBackOnTrack while standing on the massive map outside the front of the station are in with a chance of winning*.

The Network Rail managed transport hub has teamed up with train operators Caledonian Sleeper, Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway to give away a total of 12 pairs of tickets.

The impressive 6m by 3m 3D vinyl artwork has been devised like a big boardgame backdrop on which entrants can strike their pose on the station piazza.

Between 10:30am and 5.30pm on Friday 15, 22, 29 of October and 5 November, two event staff will be there to help competitors take the perfect shot and upload their entries.

James Dean, Network Rail’s West Coast South route director, said: “After a tough 18 months for us all we really wanted to do something fun for the thousands of people who are coming back to London Euston station and promote the railway as a reliable and green way to travel.

“We’re seeing more people making leisure journeys than before the pandemic so wanted to celebrate this by joining forces with our train companies to give away 12 pairs of tickets to some of the amazing places you can get to from Euston. All you need to do is get down on one of the Fridays between 10.30am and 5.30pm, post your picture to social media using the hashtag #EustonBackOnTrack and some tickets could be yours.”

The aim of the competition is to show off the great places you can get to from London Euston, whether that’s cities like Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh, getting away to the seaside in North Wales or Blackpool or the sweeping landscapes of the Lake District and Scottish Highlands.

To plan your rail journeys and find out more about the destinations you can visit www.nationalrail.co.uk or each train operators website.

About Network Rail

We own, operate and develop Britain's railway infrastructure; that's 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts and the thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. We run 20 of the UK's largest stations while all the others, over 2,500, are run by the country's train operating companies.

Usually, there are almost five million journeys made in the UK and over 600 freight trains run on the network. People depend on Britain's railway for their daily commute, to visit friends and loved ones and to get them home safe every day. Our role is to deliver a safe and reliable railway, so we carefully manage and deliver thousands of projects every year that form part of the multi-billion pound Railway Upgrade Plan, to grow and expand the nation's railway network to respond to the tremendous growth and demand the railway has experienced - a doubling of passenger journeys over the past 20 years.
