Statement in response to Paris attacks

A Network Rail spokesperson said:

“Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the horrific events that unfolded in Paris overnight. 

“Along with British Transport Police (BTP) and our industry colleagues we are monitoring the situation closely and reviewing what has taken place. 

“The safety of the public and rail staff is our utmost priority and BTP will continue to maintain a security presence on trains and at stations. We ask that you remain vigilant and call them on 0800 40 50 40 or text them on 61016 to report crime or anything suspicious when travelling on the railway.”
