Ozzy Osbourne's funeral procession is set to draw thousands of fans to the city centre to pay their last respects to Birmingham's heavy metal icon.
All three main stations - Birmingham New Street, Birmingham Moor Street and Birmingham Snow Hill - are expected to be extra busy today (30 July) as people travel to say goodbye and celebrate Ozzy's life.
Passengers are being urged to plan ahead, check before they travel, and allow plenty of time to make their journeys.
Extra station staff will be on hand to help people with their journeys and direct them to where they need to go in the city centre to see the procession.
Elizabeth Graham, Birmingham New Street station manager, said: “As Birmingham pays its respects and celebrates the life of its favourite son, we will have extra staff around throughout the day to help everyone get in and out of the city centre as easily as possible.
“With stations and trains expected to be extra busy, it’s important that passengers plan ahead and allow plenty of time to make their journeys and get to their destinations.
“Always check before you travel with National Rail Enquiries or your train operator so you have the latest information before you set off.”
Lucy Wootton, head of the Grand Rail Collaboration which represents train operators which serve Birmingham, said: “We’re expecting the rail network to be busier than normal with thousands of fans heading into the city to say a final goodbye to Ozzy.
“Make sure you plan ahead, allow plenty of time for your journey and please be patient and kind to your fellow passengers and railway staff.”
No trains are currently running on the Cross City north line between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley, or between Birmingham New Street and Tamebridge Parkway, with buses in operation between all stations. Both routes will fully reopen on Monday 4 August.

About Network Rail
We own, operate and develop Britain's railway infrastructure; that's 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels and viaducts and the thousands of signals, level crossings and stations. We run 20 of the UK's largest stations while all the others, over 2,500, are run by the country's train operating companies.
Usually, there are almost five million journeys made in the UK and over 600 freight trains run on the network. People depend on Britain's railway for their daily commute, to visit friends and loved ones and to get them home safe every day. Our role is to deliver a safe and reliable railway, so we carefully manage and deliver thousands of projects every year that form part of the multi-billion pound Railway Upgrade Plan, to grow and expand the nation's railway network to respond to the tremendous growth and demand the railway has experienced - a doubling of passenger journeys over the past 20 years.
