NEW RAIL PROPERTY DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

Mick Martin is to be appointed as Network Rail’s new Director of Commercial Property. Mr Martin, 46, is presently Network Rail’s Transaction Director, working on some of the companies bigger projects (such as Birmingham New Street) and finding workable, common sense, affordable solutions. Iain Coucher, Deputy Chief Executive said: “Mick will be a great addition to our already widely experienced property team.  He brings a huge amount of railway experience and knowledge into play, and this, coupled with his ability to find solutions and make deals, will deliver results. “His understanding of the needs of the railway married with his team of experienced property professionals will help to ensure a smoother, better experience for developers looking to explore the huge potential of railway property looking to explore the huge potential of railway property development.”                                                                Mr Martin comes from a telecommunications background and widened his business experience through Racal Telecom as Business Development Director for Jarvis Facilities and more recently, as the Project Director for Leeds Supertram. Living in the North East, Mr Martin is married with two children, and particularly enjoys travelling and reading. Mr Martin succeeds John Pike who steps down at the end of October to move to a new role outside the company
