Network Rail works to clear rubbish in and around Bradford Forster Square station

21 one-ton bags of general waste, eight car tyres and three shopping trolleys makes up just some of the rubbish cleared from in and around Bradford Forster Square station during a weekend clean up.
On Saturday, 21 September and Sunday, 22 September, Network Rail staff also collected eight car panels, a fridge and two safety barriers.
Work is taking place to clear the fly-tipping from the embankments on the Dunston Curve near Bradford Interchange from Monday, 4 to Friday, 8 November. Work to clear vegetation will be carried out around platform one at Bradford Forster Square station on Saturday, 30 November. Network Rail is also planning a volunteering event which will involve litter picking in December, to benefit passengers and people who live near the railway in Bradford.
Network Rail is working closely with Bradford BID and Bradford Chamber of Commerce to ensure the area is kept tidy.
Ian Puckrin, Head of Maintenance for Network Rail, said: “We are working to tidy up the area in and around Bradford Forster Square station.
“Fly-tipping is an ongoing national problem, and we recognise the impact it has on passengers and people who live near the railway.
“Network Rail would like to thank everyone involved so far for their work to help tidy up the area.”
