ENGINEERING WORKS CLOSE CAMBRIAN LINE

Essential maintenance works will be taking place between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth and Porthmadog and Pwllheli next week. These lines will be closed from Sunday 23 October until Thursday 27 October. Mark Langman, Network Rail’s General Manager for Wales and the Marches, said: “This important engineering work is part of our commitment to provide a safe and reliable railway. We will do our utmost to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum. “We will be reconstructing Cottage Bridge along the Aberystwyth section of the Cambrian line, as well as changing sleepers, re-railing and carrying out de-vegetation work. Along the Pwllheli section, we will be working on track renewals in the Abererch area.” Arriva Trains Wales will be operating bus replacement services between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth and between Porthmadog and Pwllheli.
