The new Borders Railway won Most Innovative Project at this year's Scottish Transport Awards.

A number of railway arches which make up a disused section of railway will be removed this weekend as work continues to build the Ordsall Chord.

Over 40 tonnes of soot has been removed from the Severn Tunnel – an important milestone in the preparatory work ahead of a six week project to upgrade the railway running through the 130-year-old tunnel this autumn.

A major milestone has been achieved by the project to rebuild the railway at Dover, despite the actions of a group of youths throwing rocks at workers.

A state-of-the-art footbridge which will significantly increase the safety at a busy level crossing in Lincoln will open to the public this Friday.
