Network Rail marked another major milestone in the delivery of the Great Western modernisation programme with the completion of a series of upgrades between Bristol Parkway and Swindon, which will deliver quicker journeys for passengers from 2019.

Engineers will shortly complete work on the £4.5m refurbishment of the Findhorn viaduct at Tomatin in the Scottish Highlands as part of Network Rail’s UK wide Railway Upgrade Plan.

This week, the leading representative body for rail freight in the UK, the Rail Freight Group (RFG), presented Network Rail with their prestigious Customer Care award at a ceremony held at Shendish Manor, Apsley.
