Network Rail is carrying out work to upgrade New Cross Street road bridge in Bradford, as part of the Great North Rail Project.

Passenger journeys from Bristol will be transformed from next year with more frequent services to London, quicker journeys and more seats per train.

Network Rail has installed 12 new pieces of original art at Leeds station to improve the experience of passengers travelling through it and create a more colourful and vibrant environment.

Mark Carne, the chief executive of Network Rail, has advised the Board that he has decided to retire from the company later this year.  The timing of his announcement ensures that a new chief executive will be established in the role before the start of the next five year regulatory control period which begins in April 2019.
