As summer starts to hot up with high temperatures forecast this week, Network Rail’s Western route has been busy making sure that the hot weather doesn’t cause frustrations for passengers and that any potential disruption to journeys is minimised.

Network Rail is hosting over 70 events in north Wales this summer to raise awareness of the dangers of trespassing on the railway.

• Rail passengers and local residents are reminded they have until Friday 26 July 2019 to have their say on Network Rail proposals to upgrade Norwood Junction station.
• The plans will provide more frequent and reliable services, as well as a modern, accessible station fit for the 21st Century.

• Local people and visitors are set to enjoy safer access across the railway at Tide Mills in the South Downs National Park after Network Rail’s proposals for a stunning new footbridge were approved.

Many passengers will be able to travel by rail over the busy August bank holiday (Saturday 24 to Monday 26 August) as most of the network is open, however, some lines will be closed for essential engineering works.
