Engineers are building a tiny railway crossing for wild hazel dormice in a bid to save the endangered species from extinction.

Engineers will be working at locations across Scotland this festive period to carry out vital projects to renew and upgrade key infrastructure - making the railway more reliable for customers.

Network Rail is carrying out work to upgrade Bainton level crossing in Helpston this weekend to improve reliability and make sure it remains fit for purpose for years to come.
