The level crossing on the Flosh footpath near Cononley has reopened after work to improve sighting for pedestrians who cross the railway.

A famous Finsbury Park landmark now welcomes people in the community, visitors and passengers using the station to the area.

Special rail services have taken place between Newcastle and Morpeth as plans to reintroduce passenger trains on the Northumberland Line gather pace.

• Work to reconstruct/strengthen railway bridges and upgrade track in central Manchester was completed by Network Rail this morning (16 August)
• Railway lines between Manchester Victoria and Rochdale and Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge have fully reopened following successful completion of the work with final finishing touches being made on Sunday 22 August, Sundays throughout September and the weekend of 2/3 October
• This forms part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) which will bring faster, more reliable services to passengers travelling between Manchester and York, via Huddersfield and Leeds

After a nine-day line closure while £10m of major improvement work took place, the railway between Maidstone East and Ashford International reopened to passengers this morning (Monday).

People in Bicester are being advised of level crossing work this August bank holiday as part of the East West Rail project.

Customers in parts of South West London are being reminded to check before travelling as Network Rail upgrades the railway around Twickenham to improve reliability.
