An 80-strong group of rail industry professionals, more used to bogies than bicycles, turned to a different mode of transport for a four-day (from 14 – 17 August) gruelling cycle ride to raise funds for charity. Covering nearly 300 miles, from Germany to the UK, the ride celebrated the successful project partnership that has led to the delivery of the first new Class 700 train set to run on the Thameslink routes.

Residents will have the opportunity to find out more about the proposed new stepped footbridge at Wool at a drop-in session on Tuesday  September 15 at the D’Urberville Centre & Village Hall in Wareham.

New proposals have been set out by Network Rail that would significantly reduce lorry movements in Shenfield and Brentwood town centres as a result of the works to improve the railway for the Crossrail programme.
