This area comprises three of Network Rail's routes – East Coast, North & East and East Midlands.
This includes the East Coast Main Line from the Scottish border to London King's Cross and the Midland Main Line from Sheffield to London St Pancras. It also covers the North East, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire and the East Midlands, plus parts of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.
Train operators include London North Eastern Railway, Northern, East Midlands Railway, TransPennine Express, Grand Central, Hull Trains, CrossCountry, Thameslink, Great Northern and Lumo.
Passengers intending to use the Northern City Line between Finsbury Park and Moorgate on Sunday 9 October are asked to plan ahead and check before they travel as work is taking place to further test digital signalling on the route.
Another milestone has been achieved in the Government funded East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP) with the successful completion of testing with digital signalling for Class 43 power cars forming part of Network Rail’s New Measurement Train.
