Demolition specialists Coleman & Company, based in Great Barr, beat off competition from the UK, USA, Germany and Brazil to land the Contract of the Year award at the World Demolition Summit in Amsterdam. The prize was awarded for the work Coleman undertook in what will become the new station concourse at New Street station.

New platforms, waiting shelters and access stairs being installed at Cosford. Work starts 31 October 2011 and is expected to be completed mid-March 2012

A 12-tonne footbridge to improve accessibility at Wrexham General has been lifted in to place marking a new milestone for the station improvement programme.
