The ramp onto the platform, which ends at the ticket office window and creates a bottleneck, will be replaced by a new lift, staricase and footbridge leading to a new ticket office at road level.

Network Rail and The Office Group have come together to offer flexible working space at stations

Demolition specialists Coleman & Company, based in Great Barr, beat off competition from the UK, USA, Germany and Brazil to land the Contract of the Year award at the World Demolition Summit in Amsterdam. The prize was awarded for the work Coleman undertook in what will become the new station concourse at New Street station.
