As well as providing a new mixed-use development for Exeter, the proposed commercial redevelopment scheme will also deliver additional car parking capacity, enhance the transport interchange at the station and create a new public realm at the gateway to the city.

The new King's Cross Square will open up the area in front of the station, revealing the magnificent Victorian facade for the first time in 150 years. The current space is taken up by the 1970s concourse extensions, plus accommodation for the British Transport Police
