Weekday rail services return to normal after Ordsall Chord work

Normal train services in and out of Manchester have resumed following 19 days of work on the Ordsall Chord.
Between 13 April and May 1 2017, a middle section of Chapel Street bridge was removed and replaced, track was realigned and wiring for electric trains was installed.
Mike Heywood, project director from Network Rail, said: “I would like to thank residents and passengers for their patience during this work."
Some train services at Manchester Victoria will remain affected at weekends until the end of September 2017 and advice is to plan your journey and check before you travel at www.nationalrail.co.uk.
