THIRSK STATION BARROW CROSSING REOPENS

Date:                                      Thursday 30 September 2004 Time and Venue:                 3pm Thirsk Station Contact:                                Carolyn Watson, Network Rail, 01904 522825 You are invited to join Network Rail, Transpennine Express and Anne McIntosh MP to mark the re-opening of the barrow crossing at Thirsk Station. The platforms at Thirsk Station are accessed by a footbridge.  The barrow crossing provides an alternative route for disabled travellers and passengers with heavy luggage or pushchairs.  The crossing has been closed while the deck has been renewed and given a non-slip coating.  Ann McIntosh MP will reopen the crossing assisted by Ben Hamilton, Network Rail’s Lineside Asset Manager and Raymond Bage of Transpennine Express. Thirsk Station is managed by Transpennine Express.
