Network Rail engineers will be working around-the-clock over the next four weekends to renew key pieces of infrastructure on the Highland mainline.

• Network Rail will be undertaking a programme of work over Christmas and New Year to improve the railway and provide better, more reliable services for passengers across Britain.
• Key upgrade work between Basingstoke and Woking, Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier, and Trowbridge to Salisbury will result in changes to services.

Passengers are urged to check before they travel between Bridgend and Cardiff on three Sundays in November and December, when Network Rail will be carrying out essential engineering work.
