The impact of Storm Eunice is still being felt today in Hertfordshire as rail services continue to be disrupted. 

Storm Eunice has caused widespread damage across Anglia’s rail network resulting in closures while Network Rail response teams clears debris and carries out repairs.

Gale force winds from Storm Eunice have closed Preston station to passengers for safety reasons.

Network Rail is urging passengers to not attempt to travel by rail for the remainder of the day with all train services suspended on the Western route, which runs between Penzance and London Paddington.

Rail companies are warning customers not to travel today as Storm Eunice causes major disruption and widespread line closures. The severe weather will affect all forms of transport across the country meaning rail companies will struggle to provide alternative means for people to get to their destination.

Network Rail has stopped all trains in and out of London Euston due to Storm Eunice.

• Rail staff have worked flat out to get the West Coast main line and North West routes clear after Storm Dudley.
• Trees fell onto the overhead wires which power trains in Cumbria, Lancashire, Manchester and Cheshire.
• Storm Eunice is on its way and speed restrictions will be in place for trains across the entire country on Friday 18 February.
