Network Rail has teamed up with the world’s most famous blue engine and pre-schooler favourite, Thomas the Tank Engine^TM, to help children learn how to be safe when using the railway.

Network Rail’s Infrastructure Project’s (IP) Track team has been awarded three Safety Swords of Honour by the British Safety Council (BSC).

New research from Network Rail reveals an alarming one in seven drivers report they wouldn’t wait for the barrier or gate to open at a level crossing before driving their vehicle over. In the last five years alone, six people have lost their lives in vehicles at level crossings ¹, with many more being hurt and injured.
