Network Rail has announced the dates for a six-day rail closure in Market Harborough to allow major work to the county’s railway to take place as part of the Market Harborough Line Speed Improvement Project which forms part of the £1.4bn Midland Mainline upgrade programme.

The London North Eastern and East Midlands route covers the East Coast Main Line from the Scottish border to London King's Cross station and the Midland Main Line from Sheffield to London St Pancras. The route covers the North East, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, parts of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and the whole of the East Midlands. Train operators include London North Eastern, Northern, East Midlands Trains, Transpennine Express, Grand Central Rail, First Hull Trains, Cross Country and Govia Thameslink Railway.
