Depending on the progress of the inquiry by investigating agencies, Network Rail will take management of the site of Friday's incident at Oxshott, today. Once on site, specialists will begin the operation to safely remove the train and fix the railway.
It is anticipated that from start of work on site that normal train services will resume within 48 hours. Passengers should check with their train operator or with National Rail Enquiries - www.nationalrail.co.uk.
